What does it mean? where did it come from?
With a little research on the internet and the tip that it was a Swahili greeting, I discovered the following translations;

habari za asubuhi - good morning
habari za wanafunzi (wako) - how are your students
habari za mwalimu wako - how is your teacher
habari za siku nyingi - how have you been
(when you haven't seen someone lately)
habari za watoto - how are the children
habari zako - how are you
habari za kazi - how is work
habari zenu - how are you (pl)
habari gani - how are you (lit. what news)
habari nzuri - fine (lit good news)

From all of these, we see that habari translates to our modern day "What's up?"
The question - habari betta - how is your betta or hello betta or what is the betta news.
And the reply betta habari nzuri - my betta is fine! Good betta news
What does BettaHabari mean? I think it means BettaNews!
